The Manastone is in the game. The developers have confirmed it exists in EverQuest Legends, but nobody has worked out where it drops or how to get one. So it has become Norrath's favorite mystery: a legendary relic, coded and waiting, with no confirmed source. Here are the leading theories, our take on each, and a place to add your own.
This is the front-runner among beta testers. Since the stone historically dropped from the Evil Eye in Lower Guk, and Game Jawn is heavily re-tuning items for a solo-friendly world, the belief is that the Manastone already exists in the data but stays inactive until an official Lower Guk dungeon revamp patch turns it on.
This is our bet too. It lines up with the historical drop, it fits how Game Jawn has been staging content, and 'coded but not yet activated' is exactly what a confirmed-but-unfindable item looks like. If you want to be first, get comfortable in Lower Guk now and watch the patch notes for anything touching that zone.
Some theory-crafters think the stone shifts to a revamped low-to-mid dungeon that keeps the eye theme, like Runnyeye or the Gorge of King Xorbb. The hunt would center on a rare named that only spawns after clearing a chain of placeholders, with King Xorbb or a wandering Evil Eye as the likely holder.
Plausible, and it would be a clean way to give the stone a home without reopening Lower Guk. We are a little skeptical only because it breaks the historical tie, but a placeholder-gated named is very much Game Jawn's style, so it is worth parking someone on the Evil Eye spawns while the Lower Guk crowd waits.
Because Legends rebuilds the game so a single trio can tackle everything, some believe the Manastone will not be a camp-able drop. Instead it would sit at the end of a difficult instanced solo trial or an unannounced questline, which neatly stops one player from permanently locking down a public spawn.
This is the most on-brand theory for a solo-first game, and it solves the exact problem a public Manastone camp would create. If Game Jawn wanted the stone in without the 1999 camp drama, a trial reward is how you do it. We rate this the strongest challenger to the Lower Guk theory.
Another idea ties the stone to event-driven progression, where rare Fabled or legacy mobs spawn across zones for a limited window with a tiny chance to hold pre-nerf loot like the Manastone or Rubicite armor.
We think this is more likely a bonus path than the main one. Fabled spawns make a great live-event moment, but a confirmed item usually has a home before it gets an event cameo. Fun to chase during any Fabled event, not something we would build a plan around.
