Voidlings are the solid-black slime NPCs that spin up private, difficulty-scaled raid instances for EverQuest Legends' classic endgame bosses. Instead of contesting a public spawn, you find the Voidling, hail it, and pick your fight.
Because the major raid bosses no longer spawn in the open world, you start their encounters through a Voidling. Find one near the target zone, hail it, and choose the "danger" dialogue prompt to set your difficulty (D0 to D4) and party options. Hailing Voidlings also opens tasks that award weekly Void-Touched Potential tokens, the giga-motes you spend to upgrade weapons and spells.
Each step up multiplies a boss's core parameters. Exact values move with balance patches, but the tiers scale roughly like this:
| Tier | Health | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| D0 Story / Baseline |
Base | Standard health pool and melee output. Drops the base tier of loot and standard progression resources. |
| D1 Hard |
+25% HP | Roughly a quarter more health, with a modest bump to minimum and maximum melee hits. |
| D2 Heroic |
+50 to 60% HP | Bigger health pools plus added spell resistance, so you want high-tier debuffs like Malo or Tash to land crowd control reliably. |
| D3 Mythic |
+100% HP | Double the baseline health, and boss attack speed scales up hard, spiking the damage your tank takes. |
| D4 Fabled / Apex |
+200 to 300% HP | The scaling ceiling: amplified spell damage, shorter cooldowns on key abilities like Master Yael's death touch, and added automated mechanics. |
