Interface & UI

Cleaner interface

Switch to the modern UI

Type /load in chat and a small window opens. Pick default_modern as your UI skin for a cleaner, more modern layout. It's the fastest quality-of-life upgrade in the game, and you can switch back any time.

Navigation

Put NPCs and the ring on your map

Open the map and turn on the filters for NPCs and the ring. Vendors, quest-givers, and the ring then show up as markers you can steer straight toward instead of wandering the zone.

Actions window

Find the spells you missed

Press L to open the Actions window, click the Spells tab, then Show Unscribed. Anything listed is a spell you didn't automatically receive for free, so you know exactly what's left to go learn.

Stop wasting bag slots

Storage & currency

Storage tab

Bank up to 50 extra items

Your Storage tab holds as many as 50 pieces of gear without eating a single bag slot. Park your swap sets, resist gear, and alt-class pieces there so your inventory stays free for loot and drops.

Currency tab

Keep your motes in Currency

Motes of Potential live in the Currency tab, not your bags. Set them to auto-store and pull from there whenever you upgrade. Full system in the Motes of Potential guide.

Get stronger, faster

Character power

Alt Advancement

Grab the Archetype AAs first

Before you sink points elsewhere, check the Archetype tab for the quality-of-life must-haves, like Quick Buff, Steadfast Will, and Mnemonic Retention (more memorized spell slots). Plan the whole board on the AA guide.

Unlock once, keep forever

Rituals are permanent

Rituals unlock spells you keep for good. Once you've unlocked something like Wizard or Druid teleports, it's yours forever, no re-learning and no consuming a spell slot to hold it.

Item upgrades

Every item goes to +10

Every item can be upgraded all the way to +10 with motes. Don't pass on a good drop because it's baseline, it climbs a long way. The whole upgrade system is in the Motes guide.

Exaltations

Move a proc to a better weapon

Outgrew a weapon but love its proc? Exaltations let you lift a proc, click, or worn effect off one item and slot it onto a better one. Step-by-step in the Exaltations guide.

Combat toggles

Run a stance and an invocation together

Because you play a fused trio, you can keep one melee stance and one caster invocation active at the same time, hitting hard while your spells stay boosted. See the Stances & Invocations guide.

Out in Norrath

Field tricks

Home base

Lean on New Sebilis

The New Sebilisian Expedition is a handy Iksar hub with vendors, quests, and leveling right outside the door. Build a loadout around it and use it as your base of operations.

Beat faction aggro

Sneak past hated races

Playing a race the locals hate? Slot a Rogue into your loadout and use Sneak to slip past mobs that would otherwise be kill-on-sight, so you can reach vendors and quest NPCs in unfriendly territory.

Dial it in

Difficulty: when to push, when to ease off

The difficulty slider is a lever, not a badge of honor. Match it to what you're doing.

Farming gear

Crank it to D4

When you're hunting gear, push difficulty to D4. Higher tiers drop loot pre-upgraded (D4 at +4 or higher), so every drop starts further up the ladder.

Just leveling

Drop to D0

If you only want levels, ease down to D0 for faster, safer kills and better throughput. Farm hard, level easy. Full breakdown in the difficulty guide.

Where to next

These tips are drawn from the live game and early community knowledge. EverQuest Legends launched July 28, 2026 and is still being tuned, so a menu or command may shift, confirm anything that looks off in-game.
