An EverQuest Legends original zone with no classic counterpart: the compact Iksar staging hub that serves as their starting-city stand-in. The city proper is small, just three rooms, and functions as a services hub with every class trainer and spell vendor gathered in one place, which makes it one of the easiest cities to shop in precisely because it is not sprawling. Behind the city sits a redesigned newbie leveling area, a cavern with a lake and a statue in the middle, where undead ghosts drop a set of brand-new EQL-era gear that is strong enough to carry you comfortably toward mid-level. Because this is a revamped zone, its loot is scaled to the EQL era and is not classic-EQ data.
How to Get to New Sebilisian Expedition
Reached from the Northern Desert of Ro (North Ro). Take the boats to the northeast corner of the zone and look for a black cave door set into the rock; click that door to zone in. A soulbinder is stationed just outside the entrance in a tent.
EnemiesThe city rooms are a safe service hub with nothing to fight. The action is in the back leveling area, a cavern with a central lake and statue, where the notable enemies are the ghosts that drop the new gear. Respawns here are fast and there are no placeholders gating the rare drops, in keeping with the revamped starter zones.
Notable NPCs
-
Ghosts (back leveling area)
rare drops
The undead that haunt the cavern with the lake and statue behind the city. They drop the zone's new EQL-era gear, and the pieces upgrade with motes like any other item (a player reports taking the two-handed sword to +3). Item names below are community-reported, so confirm them in-game.
-
Burnt Sheer Blade2H slash · melee classes
A two-handed slashing sword that procs a fire/burn effect. Firsthand report: roughly an 11/40 weapon once upgraded, and it casts burn periodically in combat. A strong leveling two-hander for warriors and hybrids.
-
Boots of the Long RoadFeet · caster
EQLAC 4 · HP +5 · click: Spirit of the Traveler (must equip) · No Trade · all classes
Caster foot armor from the ghosts, reported to carry a movement or travel bonus. A clean early boots slot for int and wis casters.
-
Withered Root StaffCaster weapon
One of two caster weapons reported from this new dungeon area. Good early stick for a starting caster.
-
Singed Armature RodCaster weapon
The second reported caster weapon from the back leveling area, paired with the Withered Root Staff.
-
Smoldering RobeRobe · appearance
A robe tied to a fashion/appearance quest rather than a straight stat piece, so players grab it for the look. Confirm whether your character wants it for slot stats or purely cosmetics.
-
Commander Riteb (Warrior Guildmaster)
quest giver
Gives What Happened Here?, an 11-step quest through the dungeon that rewards the New Sebilisian Bindings bracer. You need amiable faction to start it. Full walkthrough in the Quest guides section below.
-
New Sebilisian BindingsWrist · War / SK / Monk / Shaman / Nec / Beastlord
Reward from the What Happened Here? quest: AC 2, endurance regen +2, fire resist +2. Lore, No Drop.
-
Class trainers
trainer
Every class trainer is gathered here, so you can train regardless of your class once you can get inside.
-
Spell and tome vendors
merchant
All spell and combat-ability vendors are here. Spells are auto-granted as you level until around level 20, after which you have to buy your next ranks from these vendors, so this becomes a regular stop.
-
Banker
banker
A banker is stationed inside. From the entrance, go forward through the door and the banker is a landmark in the first main room; the druid spell vendor sits in the room just past the banker (take the first left, go past the banker, and it is in that room).
-
Soulbinder
soulbinder
Set up outside the zone entrance in a tent, so you can bind nearby before heading out.
-
Tradeskill vendors
merchant
Faction-appropriate tradeskill vendors are also stationed here.

Supplies for the New Sebilisian Expedition
Level 1+ (all classes)
Reward: New Sebilisian Expedition faction
+10 faction per Small Piece of High Quality Ore, +15 per Small Brick, plus experience
Quest giver: Crusader Iktra (Northern Desert of Ro shoreline near Freeport, around 2256, -812)
- Talk to Crusader Iktra on the North Ro shoreline to pick up the turn-in.
- Gather Small Pieces of High Quality Ore (drop from goblins in Permafrost, Solusek's Eye, and High Keep, or make them via Blacksmithing), or Small Bricks of High Quality Ore (Blacksmithing, breaking down Fine Steel weapons at a forge).
- Hand the ore to Crusader Iktra, repeating until your New Sebilisian Expedition faction reaches amiable.
This is the quest new non-Iksar players want first: it raises your faction so the guards and vendors in the city will deal with you, and it unlocks the What Happened Here? bracer quest. Iksar characters already have the faction and can skip it.
What Happened Here?
Level 1+ (mobs 10 to 15); amiable faction required
Reward: New Sebilisian Bindings (Wrist)
AC 2 · Endurance regen +2 · Fire resist +2 · WT 0.5 · Small · War, SK, Monk, Shaman, Nec, Beastlord · Lore, No Drop · also grants +250 faction
Quest giver: Commander Riteb (Warrior Guildmaster) (inside New Sebilisian Expedition)
- Talk to Commander Riteb to start the quest (amiable faction required).
- Ask Orator Zikorisy what happened here, find a crumbling scroll on a table in a side room near the safe area, and report back.
- Ask Defector Jabitzu about the curse, find a second scroll on a bookshelf naming the deity, and report that Solusek Ro caused it.
- Retrieve a third scroll from the northwest corner of the large square white room to the south.
- Kill the Abomination of Ro and report the golems to Defector Jabitzu.
- Kill the three spirits (Spirit of Dessication, Flaming Wraith, and A Vitrified Skeleton), then confirm completion with Defector Jabitzu to receive the Bindings.
Only the six listed classes can wear the bracer, but for any of them it is a great early endurance-regen wrist piece. Run the faction quest first if you are not Iksar.
Dangers
Non-Iksar start at dubious faction here, so the local guards and vendors will not deal with you (and may attack) until you work around it. There is no combat in the city rooms, but getting refused service or killed at the door is the real obstacle, and the guildmaster quest is gated behind raising that faction.
Tips
Non-Iksar have three ways in. A Rogue can simply use Sneak to shop while faction is dubious. Anyone with an Iksar illusion can wear it to pass. Otherwise, run the Metal Bits faction turn-in quest to raise your standing to amiable (community reports it costs roughly 9 to 10 plat in Metal Bits to reach amiable). Iksar characters, of course, walk in freely since this is effectively their home city. The back leveling area is worth a stop for any low character: the ghost gear is EQL-era and outclasses a lot of classic starter loot, so it is meant to get you to mid-level quickly rather than to replace high-end Planes gear.
Zone data is early and community-sourced, so confirm details in-game.
