EverQuest Legends Pottery Guide

Tradeskill1 to 200Pottery Wheel to shape unfired items, then a Kiln to fire them

Pottery is a two-step tradeskill: you shape clay into an unfired item on a Pottery Wheel, then bake it in a Kiln to finish it. It is one of the simplest skills to grind, since a couple of clay recipes carry you most of the way, and it feeds ceramic parts used by other crafts.

How Pottery works

Every combine happens in a Pottery Wheel to shape unfired items, then a Kiln to fire them, found near the tradeskill merchants in most towns. Your Intelligence or Wisdom (whichever is higher) governs your chance to gain a skill point, and a failed combine keeps the container but loses the ingredients, so buy your materials in bulk and expect some waste on the way up.

Pottery uses two containers: every item is shaped unfired on the Pottery Wheel and then fired in the Kiln, so keep both handy. This is the classic 1 to 200 grind; recipes continue higher into later eras.

Where to get the materials

Pottery FAQ

What do you need to start Pottery in EverQuest Legends?

Two stations: a Pottery Wheel to shape unfired clay items, and a Kiln to fire them, plus clay, Water Flasks, and item sketches. Your higher of Intelligence or Wisdom governs your skill gains.

What is the fastest way to level Pottery?

Shape and fire Medium Bowls from 1 to about 122, then Casserole Dishes from there to 200. Pottery is a simple grind, so batch your clay and sketches and work through the two recipes.

How do the Pottery Wheel and Kiln work?

You combine clay, water, and a sketch on the Pottery Wheel to make an unfired item, then place that unfired item in a Kiln to bake it into the finished piece. Both steps can give skill-ups.

Where do you buy clay and sketches?

From general goods and pottery merchants; the Plane of Knowledge traders stock clay, sketches, sculpting tools, and Water Flasks.

Recipes and trivial values are community-sourced from the EQL wiki, so confirm exact numbers and vendors in game.
