EverQuest Legends Tailoring Guide

Tradeskill1 to 200Sewing Kit (a Loom for some higher recipes)

Tailoring turns spider silk and animal pelts into armor for the lighter classes, plus backpacks and utility gear. The early climb is cheap silk, the mid game moves to pelt-based reinforced armor, and pelt size sets the fit, so it pays to match the pelt to the slot you want.

How Tailoring works

Every combine happens in a Sewing Kit (a Loom for some higher recipes), found near the tradeskill merchants in most towns. Your Intelligence or Wisdom (whichever is higher) governs your chance to gain a skill point, and a failed combine keeps the container but loses the ingredients, so buy your materials in bulk and expect some waste on the way up.

Pelt size sets the armor slot: wolf pelts make small pieces, cat medium, and bear large, so match the pelt to the piece you are after.

Where to get the materials
  • Spider silk. Spiders and drachnids across Norrath; combine raw silk into Silk Swatches in your sewing kit.
  • Wolf, cat, and bear pelts. Drop from animals all over Norrath in High, Medium, Low, and Ruined grades; use High Quality for armor.
  • Patterns and thread. General goods and tailoring merchants in the major cities.

Tailoring FAQ

What do you need to start Tailoring in EverQuest Legends?

A sewing kit to combine in (a Loom for some higher recipes), plus spider silk and animal pelts. Your higher of Intelligence or Wisdom governs your skill gains.

What is the fastest way to level Tailoring?

Make Silk Swatches to 15, Raw Silk Headbands into the mid 30s, and Cured Silk Masks into the 80s, then move to pelt-based Reinforced Armor and the Wu's Fighting pieces from there.

Where do you get silk and pelts?

Silk comes from spiders and drachnids, and wolf, cat, and bear pelts drop from animals across Norrath. Use High Quality pelts, and match pelt size to the slot: wolf small, cat medium, bear large.

What is the Tailoring skill cap?

The general tradeskill cap is 200, raised with the Crafting Mastery alternate advancement, and Tailoring recipes run up to about 250 including Velious gear.

Recipes and trivial values are community-sourced from the EQL wiki, so confirm exact numbers and vendors in game.
