Everfrost Peaks is a sprawling arctic zone of frozen canyons, open snow plains, and a frozen lake that serves as the newbie yard for the Barbarian city of Halas. The sheltered canyons hold low-level game while the open tundra is roamed by high-level mammoths, orc warbands, and ice giants, making it one of the most punishing newbie zones in the game.
Getting thereA tunnel in the northwest canyon leads to the Barbarian city of Halas, the Blackburrow gnoll caves in the east connect through to Qeynos Hills, and the Permafrost caverns at the south hold the ice caves of the dragon Lady Vox. All travel between them is done on foot through the snow.
EnemiesPolar bears, snow cougars, snow spiders, walruses, and ice goblins fill the safer canyons, while gnolls guard the Blackburrow entrance and roaming snow orcs travel in shaman-led packs. The open plains add woolly mammoths, tundra kodiaks, icebone skeletons, and wandering ice giants that can crush an unprepared newbie.

Tips
New Barbarians should hunt near the Halas tunnel and along the frozen lake where the game is weakest, and use the canyon walls to avoid line of sight with the mammoths and giants on the plains. Groups heading to Blackburrow or Permafrost should stick to the canyon routes rather than crossing the open snow.
