Greater Faydark

Outdoor Faydwer Lv 1–15

Greater Faydark is a vast, shaded forest of towering faydark trees and the classic starting zone for wood elves and half elves, who live in the treetop city of Kelethin built on wooden platforms high above the forest floor. It is one of the busiest newbie hubs on Faydwer, prized for the endless supply of Crushbone orcs that spill in from the east.

Getting thereButcherblock Mountains lies to the west, Lesser Faydark to the south, and the orc dungeon of Crushbone is reached through a tunnel on the eastern side; the tunnel to Northern Felwithe, the high elf city, opens off the forest as well, and Kelethin itself sits within the zone atop its lifts.
EnemiesOrc pawns, centurions and oracles wander up from Crushbone and form the main early hunting, alongside giant wasps, bats, spiderlings, decaying skeletons, black wolves, pixies and the occasional will o' wisp.

Notable NPCs

  • Kelethin guards service Emerald Warrior guards patrol the treetop platforms and will assist against KOS attackers near the city.
  • Kelethin merchants merchant Vendors scattered across the platforms buy loot and sell basic newbie supplies without needing to zone.
  • Kelethin banker banker The bank on the Kelethin platforms lets wood elf and half elf newbies store coin and goods.

Dangers

The greatest hazard is gravity, since a misstep off a Kelethin platform or lift can cause serious fall damage, and orc trains from the Crushbone tunnel can roll over unwary lowbies; the sprawling identical trees also make it very easy to get lost.

Tips

Camp orc pawns near the Crushbone tunnel and beneath the Kelethin lifts for levels one through six, watch your footing on the platforms, and use the lifts rather than jumping to reach the city.
