🗺 Zone map

The in-game map for this zone. North is up.

Lesser Faydark is a darker, denser stretch of the Faydark forest south of the wood elf lands, roamed by aggressive brownies, faeries, pixies, spectres and orcs, and famous for the wandering unicorn Equestrielle. It bridges the newbie forests to the north with the deeper Faydwer dungeons.

How to Get to Lesser Faydark

Greater Faydark lies to the north and Steamfont Mountains to the southeast, while the vampire dungeon of Castle Mistmoore is entered from the southwestern corner of the zone.

EnemiesBrownies are the signature threat and are aggressive and KOS to nearly everyone, joined by faeries, pixies, mist wolves, orcs, giant wasps, fae drakes and, at night, high level spectres that see through invisibility.

Notable NPCs

  • Equestrielle roaming named A rare wandering unicorn that roams the forest and is highly sought for its horn.
    • Unicorn HornSecondary · bards EQLclick: Purge (5 charges) · Wind Resonance 12 · bard instrument · Bard The iconic unicorn drop, carrying a Purge effect and used as a quest and tradeskill component.
    • Equestrielle's EyeQuest · rare A rare lore, no-drop item used in quests.

Dangers

Brownies hit far harder than their size suggests and are almost universally KOS, spectres that rise at night are high level and see invisible, and the tangled woods plus roaming dark elf camps make getting lost or trained a real risk.

Tips

Use wolf-form or earth illusions and invisibility to move safely past brownie territory, hunt orcs and faeries through the teens and twenties, and leave the nighttime spectres to higher level groups.
