Misty Thicket is the sprawling, gentle newbie zone for the halflings of Rivervale and one of the safest starting areas in the game. An ancient defensive wall splits it into a very safe eastern newbie half and a rougher western half with goblins, orcs, and stray undead.
Getting thereRivervale, the halfling city, lies to the east through a heavily guarded break in the wall, and Runnyeye Citadel, a goblin dungeon, is entered to the west.
EnemiesThe eastern side holds large rats, bats, snakes, fire beetles, and spiderlings, while west of the wall players find black wolves, bixies, klaknaks, giant scarabs and wasps, giant spiders, orc pawns and centurions, young kodiaks, and occasional wandering undead.

Tips
Stay east of the wall for extremely safe leveling from 1 to about 10, use the guards at the wall break for protection, and step up to the goblin and orc camps in the west once you are strong enough for the tougher spawns.
