🗺 Zone map

The in-game map for this zone. North is up.

North Ro is a sun-baked desert stretching south of Freeport, functioning as both a busy travel corridor and a solid newbie-to-mid hunting ground. Dervish camps, scarabs, and roaming undead dot the sands, with the more dangerous sand giants keeping to the southern edge near the Oasis.

How to Get to Northern Desert of Ro

It borders East Freeport to the northeast, East Commonlands via a tunnel behind the stone spire in the northwest corner, Oasis of Marr to the south, and the icy Iceclad Ocean through a boat route. It is the main overland link between Freeport and the southern deserts.

EnemiesCommon foes include fire beetles, spiderlings, jackals, pumas, tarantulas, scarabs, and snakes, alongside desert madmen, cutthroat dervishes, ghouls, and mummies. Sand giants patrol the southern fringe of the zone.

Dangers

Sand giants along the southern edge are far too strong for the newbies who hunt here, so stay north. Dervish camps repop quickly and can gang up on soloers, and mummies inflict a disease effect through melee.

Tips

North Ro works well as a marketplace and waypoint for Freeport travelers, with good group hunting for levels 4 to 10 and soloing for 7 to 15. Watch for the roaming Dorn B'Dynn if you are low level, and use the northwest tunnel for the shortcut to East Commonlands.
