Paineel is the shadowed underground city of the heretic Erudites, home to necromancers, shadow knights, and dark clerics who broke from Erudin. It doubles as a newbie hub for evil Erudites and as the gateway to two of Odus's most notorious dungeons.
Getting thereThe city is entered from Toxxulia Forest, dropping down a rock elevator into the catacombs. Inside, a door on the southeast leads to the raid dungeon The Hole, while a passage near the newbie area, on the left before The Hole entrance, leads to The Warrens.
EnemiesThe outer newbie tunnels hold kobold runts, undead and pack rats, fire beetles, and black bats for low levels, while the inner city is patrolled by tough skeletal guards and higher-level undead. Deeper library and chanter areas field library ghouls and spirit chanters that challenge mid-level players.

Dangers
The rock-elevator entrance requires a Bone Crafted Key held on the cursor, and mistakes can strand travelers in Toxxulia. The city guards hit far harder than their apparent level and will crush an unprepared low-level, and Paineel is a PvP-enabled area on servers that support it.
Tips
Obtain and keep the Bone Crafted Key ready before approaching the elevator rock. Newbies should stick to the outer tunnels and avoid the skeletal guards until stronger, and use the succor point near the Toxxulia zone line as an escape. Paineel is the staging ground for both The Hole and The Warrens, so use it to regroup between dungeon runs.
