Rathe Mountains

Outdoor Antonica Lv 20–45

The Rathe Mountains are a sprawling, rugged expanse of hills, lakes, and ancient temples that form part of the southern overland route between Freeport and Qeynos. The zone climbs in difficulty from southern lizard man camps up to hill giant fields and drake-haunted highlands in the west, making it a long-running mid-level hunting ground. It is also home to the mysterious Rathe Council, powerful earth-elemental beings tied to the region's oldest lore.

Getting thereThe Rathe Mountains connect eastward to The Feerrott and northwest to Lake Rathetear on foot; travelers on the southern land route between the two continents pass through here.
EnemiesExpect lizard man scouts, warriors, and mystics in the south, plus orcs, fire beetles, bears, gnolls, skeletal undead around ruined temples, and drakes, hill giants, and cyclops in the more dangerous western reaches.

Dangers

The western half is deadly for its level, with hill giants and giant skeletons that hit hard and roaming red-con casters and shadow knights that aggro on sight. Evil-race characters draw hostility from paladins and temple guardians, and the open terrain makes it easy to wander into a giant or drake camp unprepared.

Tips

Low-mid characters should stick to the southern lizard man camps and work up gradually toward the drakes and giants. Keep track of roaming nameds and casters, use the gypsy merchants near the zone edges to restock, and pursue the Journeyman's Boots quest from Hasten Bootstrutter if you spend time here.
