West Karana

Outdoor Antonica Lv 5–25

Western Karana is a vast, rolling plain linking the Qeynos region to the central Karanas, popular with early-level adventurers for its lions, bears, and beetles while hiding tougher threats like hill giants, an ogre shrine, and roaming undead. Its huge open terrain makes finding specific mobs a chore but gives newer players plenty of room to grow.

Getting thereThe only western exit leads into Qeynos Hills near a small trading hamlet and on toward Qeynos, while the eastern side offers two roads into North Karana, one running north by the mountains and one south along the river.
EnemiesLions, bears, wolves, giant beetles, spiders, bandits, brigands, and scarecrows fill the low-level ranges, while werewolves, hill giants, treants, ogres, and undead such as skeletal soldiers, zombies, and ghouls provide the higher-level danger.

Notable NPCs

  • Chief Goonda named mob A level 34 ogre leader who guards the shrine and respawns roughly every 22 minutes.
  • An Ogre Priestess named mob A caster guardian of the ogre shrine who supports Chief Goonda.
  • Ghoul Messenger roaming named A high-level roaming undead that is kill-on-sight to all players and haunts the scarecrow fields.

Dangers

Hill giants and grizzly bears are aggressive to everyone and can flatten the tower guards before they intervene, scarecrows cast fear and the Ghoul Messenger patrols their fields, and giant spiders deal heavy poison damage to unprepared low-level characters.

Tips

Stick to the newbie-friendly lions, wolves, and beetles near the Qeynos Hills side at low levels, give the ogre shrine and hill giant areas a wide berth until your mid-twenties, and use the river and mountain roads as landmarks since the terrain is easy to get lost in.
