Ivandyr's Hoop Quest

Quest: Lynuga's Gem Collection

One of the cheapest quests to attempt and one of the best tools in the game: a Midnight Mallet slow on demand, so you can cut a hard-hitting enemy's attack speed even with no other way to slow it. The catch is that the turn-in gives a random reward, and Ivandyr's Hoop is the ultra-rare result, so it is a gamble each time. Turn in one ruby at a time; handing over several at once can eat the duplicate rewards.

Part 1: Buy a ruby

  1. Buy a single Ruby from a jewelry vendor (roughly 130 platinum).
  2. Carry just the one ruby; do not stack several for a single turn-in.

Part 2: Turn in to Lynuga

  1. Go to Innothule Swamp and find Lynuga near the entrance to Guk.
  2. Hail her and ask what she collects.
  3. Give her the Ruby.
  4. She returns a random reward. Ivandyr's Hoop is the rare result; the other possibles are weapons. Repeat with more rubies if you are chasing the Hoop.

Ivandyr's Hoop quest FAQ

What does Ivandyr's Hoop do in EverQuest Legends?

It is an ear item (AC 6, WIS +6, INT +6, HP +6) with a clicky Midnight Mallet effect, an on-demand slow that cuts a target's attack speed. It is one of the best cheap tools in the game because it hands you a slow without needing a Shaman or Enchanter. Usable by all except Druid, Monk, and Bard.

How do you get Ivandyr's Hoop?

Buy a single Ruby (about 130 platinum) and hand it to Lynuga in Innothule Swamp near the Guk entrance. She returns a random reward, and Ivandyr's Hoop is the rare result, so you may need to turn in several rubies to get it.

Is Ivandyr's Hoop guaranteed from the quest?

No. The turn-in gives a random reward and the Hoop is the ultra-rare outcome; the other results are weapons. Turn in one ruby at a time and repeat until you get it.
