A solid early Neriak weapon quest for the darker classes. You need amiable faction with The Dead, which is easy for Dark Elves and a grind for anyone else. The quest sends you to Befallen to build the mallet from three parts, then back to Neriak to pick your reward.

Part 1: Get the note
- Hail Loveal S'Nez in Neriak Third Gate and ask about appointed tasks.
- Go to West Commonlands and find Kizdean Gix near the tollbooth. Say the password: Utalk Adarev Otcin.
- Receive A Tattered Cloth Note.
Part 2: Build the mallet in Befallen
- Go to Befallen and find Skeleton Lrodd near the well; give him the cloth note to spawn Commander Windstream on level 3.
- Kill Commander Windstream (on the throne past the invisible wall) for the Mallet Stem.
- Kill An Elf Skeleton on the same floor for the Mallet Head and Mallet Hilt (roughly a 7 minute respawn).
- Combine the Mallet Head and Mallet Hilt inside the Mallet Stem to make the Thex Mallet.
Part 3: Turn in and choose
- Return to Loveal S'Nez in Neriak Third Gate and hand over the Thex Mallet.
- Choose your reward: keep the Thex Mallet (1H blunt for most classes) or take the Reaper of the Dead (Shadow Knight 2H slashing).
