Golden Efreeti Boots

An EverQuest Legends farming guide to one of the best caster foot slots in the game: what the boots actually do in Legends, where they drop off Efreeti Lord Djarn in Nagafen's Lair, and how a trio takes him. Written for trio play.

What the boots do (and what they are not)

The Golden Efreeti Boots are a caster foot slot with heavy casting stats and, most importantly, worn Enhancement Haste II. One thing to clear up first: in EverQuest Legends these are not the classic run-speed boots the name might make you expect. They are a caster power piece, a big block of wisdom and intelligence on the feet plus worn haste, which is exactly why casters chase them.

Nine wisdom and nine intelligence on a single slot covers both the priest and the mage casting stats, so almost any caster in your trio benefits, and the worn Enhancement Haste II is a rare effect to have on the feet. For a caster-leaning trio this is a best-in-slot foot piece for a long stretch of the game.

Where they drop: Efreeti Lord Djarn

The boots drop from Efreeti Lord Djarn, a roughly level 50 efreeti boss holed up in the fire giant halls of Nagafen's Lair, the deep half of the Solusek's Eye complex known as Sol B. He also drops Jarn's Amethyst Ring, an any-class ring with agility, 80 hit points, and a Spell Haste II focus, so the kill can pay a caster twice.

Cap your fire resist before you go

Djarn is an efreeti in a hall of fire giants, so the whole fight and the approach are fire damage. Get your fire resist as high as you reasonably can before pulling him. It blunts both his output and the giants around him, and it is the single biggest thing that turns this from a dangerous fight into a farmable one.

Getting there

Nagafen's Lair is the level 40 to 50 lava-cavern dungeon reached through Solusek's Eye, Sol A, which you enter from Lavastorm Mountains. It is the same complex that holds the red dragon Lord Nagafen himself, so expect fire giants, kobolds, and fire-resist checks throughout. Clear a defined path toward Djarn's hall rather than roaming the whole cavern network.

Taking Djarn as a trio

He is a level 50 boss, so a geared trio handles him but an undergeared one will not. The pattern is the same as any fire-zone boss: resist first, clear second, pull clean, then burn.

  • Fire resist, then a clean pullCap fire resist, clear the fire giants around his spot so nothing adds, and pull Djarn solo. Fighting him with a giant or two still up is how these attempts go wrong.
  • Slow himA Shaman or Enchanter slow cuts his melee and steadies the fight, standard for any named at this tier.
  • Bring the burnOnce the room is clear he is a straight tank-and-spank. A caster trio farming its own boots has the damage to end it fast.
Exact repop timing for Efreeti Lord Djarn in Legends is still being confirmed from firsthand play. Treat him as a boss on a normal repop, clear and hold his hall, and this guide will be tightened as spawn mechanics are verified in game.

Frequently asked

  • Are the Golden Efreeti Boots run-speed boots? No, not in EverQuest Legends. They are a caster foot slot with wisdom, intelligence, and worn Enhancement Haste II. The run-speed association comes from classic EverQuest and does not apply here.
  • Who should wear them?Any caster. The dual wisdom and intelligence covers priests and mages alike, and the worn haste is valuable on a slot that rarely carries it.
  • What else does Djarn drop?Jarn's Amethyst Ring, an any-class ring with agility, 80 HP, and a Spell Haste II focus. The same kill can gear a caster's feet and finger at once.
  • Do I need a raid? No. A geared trio with capped fire resist and a slow takes him. He is a boss, not a raid target like Lord Nagafen.
Planning the caster trio you will farm this with?

Build your three classes in the Forge with the fire resist and slow you will need for Sol B, save it, and compare it against what other players run in the build database.
